The client came to use wanting more power than the stock V-8 could muster and a little more creature comforts to cruise his Continental. Let's face it, we're all used to the get-up-and-go from our modern cars, so to get the same life when moving a 5k+ pound car, a change is in order.
The client has his own rebuilt "LS" for us to install. A fine pick, the legendary GM LS engine first debuted in the late 1990s in a Z06 Corvette and has powered countless factory and resto-mod vehicles since. "LS" actually stands for LUXURY SPORT, so fitting for this Continental, first named in the 1930s after yacht-designer turned automotive designer, Bob Gregorie built the first for Ford himself.
Converting power to the wheels, the team at 1945 selected a new monster transmission and added modern air conditioning by Vintage Air.
